Burnaby Literacy

Literacy Now Burnaby is part of a province-wide network of 102 Literacy Task Groups with Literacy Outreach Coordinators, supporting literacy in 400 communities. The committees are funded supported by Decoda Literacy Solutions. All work to create awareness of the importance of literacy and increase local access to literacy opportunities through collaborative community planning.

Literacy Now Burnaby is dedicated to working in partnership with our community groups and organizations to build and enhance literacy services, programs and networks in line with the Burnaby Literacy Plan.

Burnaby Literacy

Key Activities are; collaboration with agencies and service providers to plan and implement literacy strategies. All community groups and interested individuals are welcome to attend Literacy Now Burnaby meetings and events.

Literacy Organizations

ABC Life Literacy Canada is a national organization created to inspire Canadians to increase their literacy skills. We connect and mobilize business, unions, government, communities and individuals to support lifelong learning and achieve our goals through leadership in programs, communications and partnerships. ABC Life Literacy Canada envisions a Canada where everyone has the skills they need to live a fully engaged life.

Decoda Literacy Solutions is BC’s literacy organization. We are committed to being a vehicle for individual and community change; a catalyst for a culture of literacy and learning for people of all ages, children, youth, adults or seniors. With a coordinated network of 102 task groups in 400 B.C. communities, they work with government, business and community organizations to achieve local literacy goals to build resilient communities, successful individuals and sustainable businesses. They respond to community needs, emerging trends and government priorities.
